By the end of the 19th century the french wine experts sent by Baron Edmond de Rothschild to Israel, noticed the potential of this area.
With their recommendation the first vines were planted.
After many years of making simple wines for religious purposes, began a new period of finding the best varieties for this area for making unique high quality wines.
A new wine region was born.
