Northern Israel tours with a personal touch

Northern Israel tours show a very different side of the country. Instead of desert, you find streams, orchards, vineyards, forested mountains and a lake. It is a region for slow days, good food and open views, and it rewards travelers who give it at least two or three nights.

We design each northern trip around what you enjoy, whether that is hiking, history, wine, family fun or simply a beautiful place to stay. The result is a route that feels relaxed, not rushed.

Things to do in northern Israel

01

The Sea of Galilee

Visit Tiberias, take a boat on the lake and explore historic sites such as Capernaum and the Mount of Beatitudes. The shoreline is a calm base for days of sightseeing, swimming and local fish dinners.

02

Golan Heights

Hike to waterfalls, follow the streams of Banias and Tel Dan, and taste wines at boutique wineries. In winter, the Golan is also home to Mount Hermon, with snow when the season allows.

03

Acre, Rosh Hanikra and Haifa

Walk Acre's Crusader halls and market, ride the cable car to the sea caves of Rosh Hanikra, and see the terraced Bahai Gardens in Haifa. The coast adds history and sea air to a northern trip.

04

Safed, Nazareth and Druze villages

Wander the artists' lanes of Safed, discover the old city of Nazareth, and share a meal with a Druze family. These stops introduce the people and cultures that live in the Galilee.

Sample 3-day Galilee and Golan route

Day 1: Drive up the coast, stopping at Caesarea or Haifa, then spend the afternoon in Acre. Stay near the Sea of Galilee.

Day 2: Cross to the Golan for a morning hike at Banias or Tel Dan, lunch in a local village and a winery visit. Return to the lake for a sunset boat ride.

Day 3: Visit Capernaum and Safed, then head back to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv with a stop in Nazareth. Our Galilee and Golan tours are always adapted, so you may swap hikes for museums, or add a cooking class or a farm lunch.

Best time to go and where to stay

Spring brings green fields and wildflowers, and autumn offers mild weather and fewer crowds. Summer is warm around the lake, but the Golan and Upper Galilee stay cooler. Winter can be rainy, which is perfect for wine tastings, museums and cozy village stays.

Accommodation ranges from lakeside hotels to family-run guesthouses in the hills. We suggest places that match your style and make your days easier, then explain the options clearly.

Who the North suits

The North suits couples looking for romance and quiet, families who want nature with easy trails, and active travelers who like to hike. It is also a good choice for visitors with an interest in Christian history, Jewish heritage and Druze culture.

If you are traveling for a week or more, the North pairs well with Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. We will show you a route that avoids long, tiring drives.

Questions about northern tours

How many days do I need for the North?

Two to three days gives you a good taste of the Galilee and Golan. If you love hiking or wine, four days lets you slow down. We will build a route that matches the time you have.

Can I do the North as a day trip?

It is possible from Tel Aviv or Haifa, but it means a lot of driving. We usually recommend at least one night in the region. If a day trip is the only option, we focus on one or two places.

Are northern trails suitable for children?

Many are. Banias, Tel Dan and several Galilee streams have gentle paths and shallow water. We choose routes by age and check conditions, then suggest what to pack.
