Southern Israel tours built for you

Our tailor-made Israel tours of the South take you from the shores of the Dead Sea to the Red Sea, through some of the most dramatic scenery in the Middle East. Southern Israel tours work best when they match your energy and the season, so we design each one by hand rather than from a fixed list.

The South covers more than half of the country's land area, yet it holds a small share of its people. That means empty roads, huge skies and a sense of space that is hard to find elsewhere. It also means distances are real, and good planning matters.

Highlights of the South

01

Masada and Dead Sea tour

Climb the ancient fortress of Masada at sunrise, then float in the mineral-rich Dead Sea. Add Ein Gedi's waterfalls and nature reserve for a day that mixes history, hiking and relaxation.

02

Negev desert tours

Walk the canyons of Ein Avdat, explore the Nabatean city of Avdat, or visit Mitzpe Ramon on the edge of a giant crater. Stay overnight for stargazing under some of the clearest skies in the region.

03

Eilat and the Red Sea

Snorkel or dive in coral reefs, relax on the beach and visit the stark red mountains of Timna Park. Eilat is a good way to end a trip with a few easy, sunny days.

04

Bedouin hospitality

Share tea and a meal in a Bedouin tent, take a short camel ride, or meet local guides who know the desert well. These experiences add a human side to the landscapes.

Sample 4-day southern route

Day 1: Drive from Jerusalem or Tel Aviv to the Dead Sea. Float, enjoy a mud treatment and spend the evening at a lakeside hotel.

Day 2: Sunrise at Masada, then Ein Gedi nature reserve in the late morning. Continue south to the Negev through Arad.

Day 3: Explore Ein Avdat and Avdat, then reach Mitzpe Ramon for a crater viewpoint at sunset and a stargazing evening.

Day 4: Drive through the desert to Eilat for Timna Park and an afternoon by the Red Sea. This is only a sample. We adjust the order, length and activities to your dates and interests.

Choosing the right pace and season

The best time for the Negev is autumn through spring, when days are warm and walks are comfortable. In summer, temperatures can be very high, so we move hikes to early morning and add shade, water and rest. Winter evenings in the desert can be cold, which we mention in your plan.

We also consider who is traveling. Families may prefer shorter walks and a pool, while active adults may want a full day on a desert trail. Tell us how you like to travel and we will shape the days to fit.

Combining the South with other regions

Many travelers add the South to a longer trip. A day at the Dead Sea fits easily between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, while a full Negev and Eilat loop suits a trip of at least ten days. We show you realistic driving times so you can decide what is worth it.

If you are short on time, we may suggest the Dead Sea and Masada only, saving the far south for a future visit.

Questions about southern tours

Can I visit Masada and the Dead Sea in one day?

Yes. A Masada and Dead Sea tour is a popular day from Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. We usually start early to avoid the heat, climb or take the cable car, then leave plenty of time to float and rest.

How many days do I need for the Negev and Eilat?

Three to four days works well for a Negev and Eilat trip itinerary, including time for Mitzpe Ramon and the Red Sea. Shorter trips are possible but involve long drives, so we will tell you honestly what is realistic.

Is the desert suitable for children and older travelers?

Yes, with the right planning. We choose accessible viewpoints, short trails and comfortable stays, and we avoid the hottest hours. Tell us about ages or mobility needs and we will adapt every day.
